Leesburg, VA, April 04, 2017
Sighs of relief echoed through the halls of Apesh*t 5K headquarters today as news arrived that famed promoter of the Leesburg race, Ape, was cleared to re-enter the United States. With the date for the next Apesh*t 5K officially announced for November 5th at Westpark Golf Course in Leesburg, VA, his return could not have come at a better time.
Ape was caught-up in the swirling debate on travel restrictions while on an expansive international trip exploring potential new events for this year’s race. Detained and held ‘indefinitely’ at an undisclosed location, Apesh*t 5K teammates anxiously awaited news on the fate of their beloved colleague.
“It was just a scary time,” said a spokeswoman for the the Apesh*t 5K. “Ape has had obvious challenges with airport security after the infamous ‘bourbon debacle,’ but this took it to a whole new level. We’re just happy he’s safe and able to promote the race on November 5th.”
The Apesh*t 5K, a race where partners compete together to have time subtracted for excelling in tailgate-like events such as pong, cornhole, putting and darts, is poised to smash all previous attendance records. With Ape now back in the promotion fold, the only question is how fast they fill-up.Ape could not be reached for comment but his vehicle was spotted in front of the Leesburg ABC, no doubt obtaining some refreshments to celebrate his release.
